I'll let you guys know how those are, a few I got just for the hell of it, sorry if my tastes are not as... diverse as others :tongue_ma: If stored in 60 degree weather they'll last months and months, like with most MRE stuff.

If I decide I like it, I'll see if they can give discounts on bulk orders with specific entrees and sides and such.

I don't know why....but I always chuckle when I hear or see the word "pouch".

Ok, the package came today and I have to say, I started with the Southwestern Chicken with Black Beans and Rice, I'm surprised by the size of the entrees, I thought they would be a lot smaller:

But they were actually a good size! The pounches are fat and the contents are in good shape:

The texture was just right, and nothing was soggy like I had imagined it would be. The chicken was just slightly rubbery, but tasted fine.

Heated using my MRE heater:

looked out the window while I heated it up, just thought I'd snap a picture of the dragonfly window clings :D

Overall, I liked it! It wasn't bland like I expected. Still put a little Cholula hot sauce on it for good measure, after eating most of it though. As far as nutrition goes, you can see the label on the site or in my picture, theres healthier things you could eat and the aluminum warning definitely didn't ease my mind any, but hey, I'm sacraficing myself for GIM in the name of SCIENCE! Besides, if the time comes where I've actually gotta live off these things, lead would probably be more of a concern than aluminum

For a quick desert, I ripped open one of these "energy bars"

From what the nutrition label says, its made mostly of sugar and crisco. Tasted like sugar, crisco, coconut, and guava juice. It wasn't necessarily unpleasant, but I expected more of a fruit flavor. It was really just bland I guess, but could serve a purpose if you really needed the empty calories in a hurry. I could think of a lot of other things I'd rather eat, but I wouldn't mind eating these if they were all I had. Maybe they'll be more valuable and delicious if people have nothing else to eat? :tongue_ma: The energy bars all expire in 2012. I still have cherry and orange to taste, but I'm honestly kind of full, after eating that chicken and rice, followed by this crisco bar. Thats a good thing though, a friend of mine told me an army travels on it's stomach.

I'll write another review in a week or two, after I eat a few more of these. Southwestern Chicken with Black Beans and Rice gets my stamp of approval, I'll see how it compares to the others.
